World Series

I miss the pitchers batting. You had the whole other aspect of leaving your cruising starter or yanking him for a double switch. If the pinch hitter gets a hit and drives in runs fine. If the reliever keeps cruising, also fine. But the chance of it all blowing up in the manager's face with a strikeout or double play grounder by the pinch hitter and the reliever getting shelled was a fun part of the game now gone forever. IMHO, about the only real good to come out of the DH is it allowed Jim Abbott to pitch several years in the majors.
Managers sure liked the pitcher hitting rules. More flexibility. But like all sports. Rule changes is to promote more offense. More scoring? More sales.
