Was just woken at 11:30 our mountain is burning and has gotten worse.
After years of My area being Seattle-east, this year has been exceptionally dry, ...beautiful, & have been thrilled to be able to work outdoors as much as I have, but it is very dry. I had piles of brush I was finally able to burn last week, due to low overnight temps, dew, & very little breeze to speak of.
Most departments around here will deal with field fires on farms etc., oversee controlled hay-row burns, raging forest fires have never happened anywhere near Me or My Parents & that's covering nearly 80yrs. What Steve is facing is exceedingly rare in this state, We don't have a team just waiting to jump in & knock it down, like out west. Even that doesn't always work, as evidenced routinely, natural/accidental starts are bad enough....then add pyros & jackasses......
