That picture of the idler hitting the pan is without tie rods and the steering stops are on the LBJ. So that might be further than the idler actually travels. Have you checked again with the steering completely assembled?

Barely taps with everything hooked up. I don't ever turn full lock anyway. But when I do a disc upgrade, I'll set the stops
