Cam help

in the absolute most basic terms, longer duration cams move the power up in the rpm range at the expense of lower rpm torque.

short duration camshafts tend to be better for low end torque and throttle response. in the upper rpm range longer duration camshafts have the potential to make more power because the valve is open longer allowing the cylinder to fill more. so at low rpm because them valves is hanging open, your compression is going in the toilet, thus you have a doggy, lazy engine till you get the R's up to where it's starting to make power.

having a 4spd and gears can negate some of this, but the fact remains that longer duration cams tend to create narrow, peaky power bands.
