Should i even bother with with getting a higher compression ratio?

There might be some showboating in the unabridged version but i believe that learning what is actually happening during the valvetrain events is what the authors goal is. I still don’t get it all….. but i imagine the heart is in the right place.

You talking about AJ?

Not like he's necessarily wrong just he seems to only factor in V/P CR (efficiency) etc.. which are obviously valid points/concerns but when it comes down to making torque and hp it's generally more about how much fuel and air over time you can process then how efficient your are with it because the effect of efficiency has a relatively narrow range. Far as I can tell there's zero factoring in any VE% gains (torque therefore hp) that's probably occurring in his examples and solely focused on loss of V/P (efficiency) but there's obviously more to making torque/hp then V/P.
