Lost one of my dogs
I adopted Noah in 2011 from a local no-kill shelter. When they introduced me to him, he was alone and curled up on the concrete floor of his "cell," not excited to see anyone. He was clearly depressed. They told me he had been adopted out twice, and both families returned him.
I brought him home and he became family. At 105lbs, he was a gentle giant. Wonderful with kids and other dogs. He rarely barked, but when he did, the sound was deep and thunderous.
Over the past 6 months, his arthritis got really bad. Medication barely touched the pain and his muscle mass disappeared. I could tell he didn't have long. The last two days, he stopped eating and needed help standing up.
I woke up this morning and walked into the living room with my other two dogs to wake up Noah for breakfast, but he didn't wake up. He was 15.
You're not hurting anymore, buddy.
