best way to repair twin scoops

I thought all of those hoods got the relief in the stamping of the underbracing regardless of whether or not they got scoops, both of my '71's have that relief in the bracing but neither had scoops. Looks like at some point they ditched the relief, but they kept the mounting holes for the scoops.
What is the build date of your car? Guessing they lost the relief in the bracing at some point late in '71 because the '72 hood scoop was different. My April build '71 still has them...
As for the pitting, they're basically a fiberglass type material so any decent body filler should take care of the pits.
