Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....
Rusty, I didn't read the complete thread, but. The 64 Valiant I just got has the Bergman auto craft quick ratio power steering setup. I don't have the car running yet, but can tell you a couple of things. It is almost impossible to turn the steering wheel while pushing the car by hand. Of course I am the original "98 lb weakling" :)
1: the Clifford shorties are very close to the steering box. In my case the car needs new rubber insulators, so that should help a little. Might have to shim the mounts up a little.
2: The inner steering shaft can be swapped. (Manual shaft in the column).
3: The lower end of the column (jacket) has a non factory seal/bearing I think part of the Bergman kit.
4: I will have to look at the car to remember what was used as a coupling.
5: a Saginaw pump was used.
6: has what looks to be a stock later model fluid cooler
Car is in a storage facility right now, so will be awhile before I can look at it. The previous owner was setting the car up for auto crossing. It has 1 inch torsion bars, about a 1 1/2 inch sway bar, edelbrock shocks, and 11 3/4 front disc brakes
