I fixed my no heat in my 03 ram
This past summer I replaced my water pump. Truck worked great ran normal temp. The truck is in mint condition and has been off the road and in storage for 12 years The other day I got it out to drive it and noticed no heat. Came home and check the water level. Good,
I felt the heater hoses and the one was cold. I thought well I probably disturbed the block crap and clogged the heater core. So I flushed it in both directions. Refilled the coolant and still no heat. So I went on line and typed in " No heat 2003 dodge ram.
Here was their advice.
1.Thermostat bad,
2. Blend door in box broke,
3. partially clogged core
4. Bad radiator
5. Defective pump
And the list went on.
So I read that the heater core gets air bound on these trucks. Never had a problem with any of our diesels we have that I noticed, They always had some heat. . Some one came back and said. You have to run the truck on a steep hill with the cap off the expansion tank or radiator and squeeze the top hose three- four times with the heat on high while holding it off idle.
So I figured what do I have to lose. My daughter got in the truck and we did exactly what they said to do. I never had heat like that in any of my dodge rams, I can heat my coffee on the defrosters. Did any of you ever hear of this. I never did but it definitely works. I can't wait to try it on all our Diesel rams. My 03 gas is clean but its a pooch when it comes to power for towing. I want to pass it down to one of the girls.
