Duster Breaks FAST Small Block Record

It's all a balancing act of everything. Dumbing down the torque and trying to hold on to the power as high as possible. Getting it to set the tires without hitting them too hard, converter, pinion angle, instant center, all are big. I'm in the stone ages with ignition and timing curves, I just use springs in the distributor to delay timing.

I agree with you with the vettes, they took a killer package and then tweaked the rules so the only limiting factor left is the tires. No one is going to catch up.
And Vettes came with the biggest tires of any 60/70s muscle cars .
I know where there is a 73 Vette with 50k original miles that I can buy pretty cheap and am half tempted to move on . Its been sitting inside for many years with the dash taken apart because it needed a heater core and the owner thought he had to pull the dash to replace it.
It’s just and L42 auto car but is in great shape.
