OK, I was just making sure that those were correct. Thank you.
Yes those are correct.
The only additional information I have is that there used to be a version for the fronts that was advertised for a 1” lower ride height, that number was 55-R081. I’m not sure they’re still offered, could be wrong.
Piston stroke length on the 55-R081's is 5", the lower shock body measures 9" from the center of the lower mounting eye to the top of the shock body. So, from the lower mounting eye to c-clip on the piston is 14".
I don’t think those measurements are directly comparable to the ones from post #2, I do know that if you ran the RO81’s with stock suspension components you’d need to run a taller upper bump stop to keep from over extending them as the shock would reach the end just before the UCA hit the stop. Not an issue if you’re lowered, I had to run taller bump stops already for the 1.12” bars and my ride height.
The RCD’s I have are the R081’s (I never bought any of the R082’s) and at one point I checked and measured everything to make sure they wouldn’t bottom out or overextend on my Duster. I’ve since gone to the Hotchkis Fox non-adjustable shocks on my Duster, they are a slightly better shock for the 1.12” bars I run but it was only a minor improvement and likely wouldn’t be noticeable with a smaller torsion bar, the fox’s just handle the 300 lb/in wheel rate slightly better.
