Maybe this will help you or someone else. The original seals probably only keep out most of the water. The entire sunroof mechanism is mounted in a sort of drainpan with drain hoses at all four corners. The two front drain hoses extend down through the a-pillars and the rear two drain hoses extend down through the c-pillars and (I think) out through the bottom of the rocker panels.
