Cleaning Out Bearing Debris

They're all done. I'm glad I cleaned them. The picture (sorry, it's poor), shows material on the tip of the magnet that I ran through the fresh gas that I cleaned them in. I replaced the gas every 4 lifters. Air hosed them. (Ignore the white spot, I believe that's a reflection from the bench light.) It's almost powdery.

I should've included the words, "and crankshaft journal" in the thread title. The crank has a step that's about .005-.007", on the side of the journal that's closest to the crank C/L, for lack of a better way to to describe it. Any way, that metal, along with the bearing material, had to go somewhere.

Everything else will be getting a thorough bath as I go through this thing.

The lifters have been "bagged and tagged" with their corresponding bore location.
