How much oil 440?

My son has a set of B1 heads that came back several times to check them. Their complaint is the engine smokes so bad on every pull. Yes its a big cube pulling truck. Finally he asked him what oil he is running.

Now this is not a miss print on my part. And I confirmed what my son told me by asking the person myself. 16 quarts of 20-50. This is a dodge dealership. He swears the engine never smoked until the heads were redone. The engine has a 8 quart pan but he has a remote filter. I still find it hard to believe but this is the truth. A dealership!

When I questioned him he kept repeating this is a pulling truck. My god I still can't believe he told me that.
