The remote filter would take a little more but not twice as much .
Were they blaming your son for the smoking part,,,like the heads were at fault ?

lol,,,I guess at least the cam was getting plenty of splash from the crank dipping into the reservoir,,,Lol .

You got it. The engine was done at another machine shop that closed up. We had no clue that he was putting that much oil in the engine until his partner in crime mentioned it.. Tried to put 16 quarts in the same pan alone and the pan would not hold 12. That means he has over 4 quarts above the crank.
