front disks do that automatically, I recommend doing that first. bolt on adapters can get you by for the rear. that's the order I did....disks first, then new rims/rubber (using a pair of billet bolt on adapters, note it increases track width of the wheel mount face to wheel mount face from 57.125" to 59.125", which looks much better on my duster). planning on doing the rear axle next, as with some of the sounds I hear and the play I have in the cross pin/spiders of my 140K mile 7.25" rear, I'm not sure how long it is for the world. I'm going to go with a ranger 8.8" rear I think, as at 58.5" wide, it's about the perfect width if I do decide to put wider rollers in back than my current 225/70/14's.
what you decide to do with the rear will influence what you will/can do with the wheels. if you take an explorer rear and shorten the 1 side so the pumpkin is centered, that will change your offset needs compared to an 8 3/4 with custom axles/B body brakes, vs. swapping in a '73-up 8.25, vs. using an explorer or ranger axle as is....
