A Body vs B Body Console Tach Mount
Issue Resolved!
Hi brain trust!
I member of FBBO contacted me to buy a console tach mount.
He needs one for a Coronet R/T
I was all set to ship the Tach mount that I make but stopped because I recalled the B Body tach mounts directly to the console. Rather than like the A Body which mounts to an angled mounting plate that mounts to the console.
From my detective work in the 67 parts book it looks like the trach body is the same A to B body, and the plastic plate that aligns the tach straight or toward the driver is the same part number.
Inconclusive is the A Body mounting plate, there are no photos of it or specific wording to lead me to conclude it ever existed ( I know it does)
There is a photo of a B Body and related tach hardware but it does not show a mounting base of any kind, only the plastic alignment plate, spring, washer and nut.
There is a photo of interiors of Dart and Belvedere that show the tach and the face of the tach on the dart is more angled than the Belvedere.
Can anyone confirm that the B Bodies DO NOT use a mounting base like the A Bodies
Thanks all
