Stop in for a cup of coffee

It's not necessarily the gun but the shooter. Why ruin all the meat just to blow it to he** My dad hunted out west and has a record mule deer rack. He would shoot 300 yards with out flinching hunted ground hogs in a 500 yard field. All with the same gun and one that I use. A Remington model 722 257 Roberts. As me old man used to say never shoot against a man with one gun. I wouldn't want to take on a grizzly with a 257 but then they have been killed with a lot smaller gun. Make the shot count.
While I agree 100%, the OP asked the question which would you choose 300 win mag or the 338. Me personally I use a 308 for most everything. And, very similar shotgun story…when I was in Coaches school for Shotgun part of Olympic feeder program to graduate you had to shoot trap skeet etc. We walked out to the line I put my little beater browning 20 ga O/U in the rack next to a line of 5-20k dollar Italian custom shotguns, there was no end to the smack talk. It looked like an elf’s gun next to the big Italian rigs. Nobody laughed at end of day, I passed the shooting portion with some flair! I got me some street cred that day. I been hauling around that little twenty for a long time!
