ONE brake light does not work

start at the tail light and work back. test light on the contacts will tell you if you have juice. if you've got juice and the test light hits, then it's a ground-- test light supplies its own ground.

so clean up the "claws" and double check that the housing is grounded and the socket is tight/clean on the housing and the bulb.
