Bad engine miss

The reason why I mentioned this in post #9 is I have seen this many times. Sitting for a long time the valves stick open. When cranking the engine over the push rod falls out and gets under the rocker base. The piston then comes up and closed the valve and bends the push rod if it is jammed under the rocker. Sometimes you get lucky and they snap back in place if the valve is not open to far.
Definitely got lucky I’ve been driving it weekly now and she’s running great. Something was definitely up even before I stopped driving it because the passenger side has a little blue smoke at idle (really couldn’t tell driving down the road) and now absolutely no smoke.
The motor only had 1000 miles and I put about 800 on it before I couldn’t use it for about a year. I’m wondering if the switch to the high zinc valvoline made the difference. Again thanks for all your help.
