70 Dart Front Wheel Question
I plan on replacing the small bolt pattern Cragar SS wheels on my 70 Dart for a different look. I am going to be swapping large bolt pattern axles and brakes on the car and then I'd like to put Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500's on it. I'd like 15x6 for the front but it appears I'll have to get 15x7 as 15x6 aren't available. The Cragars on the front of my Dart are 15x6 with 205-70-15 tires which fit just fine with no rubbing issues. My question is, if I have to go with 15x7 Magnum on the front, what size tires can I run without the risk of them rubbing? I would like tallest tire possible as I don't like short tires but at the same time, I don't want a tire that is narrow to the point where it just fits on a 7" wide wheel and the sidewall is flush with the rim (if you know what I mean). I believe my 205-70s would look like that on a 7" wide wheel so a 60 or 65 series tire seems likely. If anyone has 15x7 on the front of your car and could post a pic and tire size, I would appreciate it.
