the carter linkage is totally different (red box), the bowl vent is attached (yellow) vs the holley is integrated into the body, fuel inlets are different due to the construction of the body (magenta squares), the bail on the holley runs 12~6 and 1~7 on carters.

That is the older version of the BBD used up until about 1973/74ish. Then the one in the pencil drawing a couple of posts up replaced it.
As far as the Holley 2280 I've had a few, my 78 fury still has its original which runs good but is going because it's a lean burn version that doesn't have a vacuum advance port.
I also still have the original one from my 83 d250 that ran alright when it was on there but I took that one off when I put the cam and 4bbl on that engine. The 83 one was not lean burn. For now that carb might wind up on the fury for a while.
