Not saying it would for sure or you didn't. But, typically on that shade of paint, your ground coat sealer or just a ground coat will make a huge difference in the shade you get. If your spray out is really light. Did you spray it over black? If not, and you shot it over white light to medium Grey, over black would change it quite a bit. Definitely make it darker. Black is a great ground coat for many colors. Most metallic paints especially. Want a popping silver or gold metallic. Put it over black.
