Stop in for a cup of coffee

Did i share the failure with my Esab welder? I was meaning to. All the copper hanging out was wrapped in black tape. Seems to me the brass collar wasnt crimped, so the cable was slowly burning off strand by strand. And the problem really showed up after i cranked up the welder to burn some tubing together. I cut it back and used a hose clamp to secure the copper to the brass fitting.
