In my 198ci Demon, the VIN is also present on the passenger side inner fender.

I don't believe this is a normal location for a VIN stamp on the Demon. Normally, there is only a partial VIN stamped on the body which is Plant, Year, last six of VIN numbers. It might be possible from its appearance that your fender stamp was put there for possibly export reasons.

The partial VIN is normally on the top of the radiator support, and may be under the coolant sticker if one is present.

Also, the VIN or partial VIN on 68 & up A bodies is not found on the driver side door pillar, they are dash, rad support, and trunk lip on Barracuda and Darts, or package shelf on Duster, Demon and Dart Sports
