Reading up it looks like in 86 they had a CAD system for the front axle engagement, have to learn more about that. Did read that you can't put any limited slip into that system, also have to find out if it's vacuum and where that actuates. Read that there is a separated drive shaft on the long axle and a collar that joins the two together, could see that air actuated like an ARB locker. I think if it has that it may not have hubs to turn in, crap I'm confused.
