Acceptable carbs for the street

Someone with a whole lot more experience and time than me should do a study/testing of wet vs dry, Carter vs Edelbrock vs Holley, 500 vs 600 vs 650 vs 750,... etc. Maybe it's been done and I'm just not aware of it? Probably deserves a thread of its own. Anyone?
I read somewhere on one of the racer threads (not a Mopar thread, maybe yellow bullet?) where someone had done exactly that. I have no clue where I saw it, however. If faulty memory serves, wet flow seemed to be about 95%, roughly, of dry flow.
