Reminds me of a story I once read by Roald Dahl

The main character picks up a hitchhiker in his new car
They get to talking and the guy ends up getting pulled over and losing his license

Turns out, the hitchhiker is a pickpocket and he's stolen the cops notebook and the guys license back

He tells him, find one thing that's hard to do, and simply become the best at it
