Factory Painted "Vinyl" Roof
So the question would be, why so few two tone painted roofs when it was clearly a factory option? I think I have an idea. Here are ads for a special package offered on 1970 Darts:
So if they a "giving away" vinyl roofs as a part of a special cost package, why pay for a contrasting painted roof?
By the way the best preserved and documented example of a painted top factory car that I have found is at the very private, very high dollar, Brothers Collection in Salem Oregon. it is a 70 or 71 Hemi Cuda that is black with a white painted top. They have more Hemi Cudas and Challengers under one roof than I have seen altogether in my life, before going there.
