6.5 years on a battery - new personal record!
Had to get some plywood, so I went to start the '01 Dodge full-size van the other day.
I've arguably got too many cars (don't tell my wife), and I've probably used the van about every two months for the last ten years or so, but I like to have it when I need it – 3/4-ton, 360, 4:10 posi, it'll haul whatever I need and it's a great tow vehicle.
Turn key. Nothing. Not even a click. No relays, no gauges, Nada.
Damn. Squirrels must've chewed something else.
Open hood, look at battery. Oh.
So, with very intermittent use, this Wal-Mart battery lasted exactly 14 years.
I doubt the new one will, but then again, I may not either.
