School me on Intake compatability, and modifications.

I spoke with a gentleman in tech at Indy several days back, sadly I've let his name escape me. He indicated to me the Modman is indeed primarily a good base for a forced induction application.

With that said, I described my scenario of a 6.1 based 426 stroker build, Apache heads, 4.10 gear, four speed, aluminum flywheel, dual quad setup. He suggested that in this application the Modman may not present the negatives others have had using it in stock displacement applications, in fact he thought it would be a good combo. Interestingly, he indicated to me that the Gen 3 Hemi head is so efficient in its use of fuel, it is very easy to overcarburate these engines. It was his advice to use dual 500cfm carbs vs the dual 650's I currently run on my tunnel ram W2 408. I may give this a whirl, I will also show my engine builder the 7528 Edelbrock dual quad and see what his thoughts are about some type of port match.

I could see smaller carbs potentially helping to offset the plenum issue as well. Figure you're going to have a little better airspeed through them to keep things moving, which could help them operate a little more effectively. I bought my car with a 318 that had a Carter AFB on top that I want to say was ~450 cfm or something like that. It was an amazing setup on the 318 and ran almost like fuel injection in that it was so easy to just start and drive. It would cruise on the Hemi fine, but I just couldn't get it to do quick throttle transitions.
