SIZE DOES MATTER

When I was young, I had the privilege of rebuilding a Blockair air compressor at a steam plant. I was an apprentice. They had a crane set up over it for pulling the heads off. The compressor looked like a big block hence the name. The pistons which there was 2 were about 12-14" in diameter. Can't find any pics online but was impressive. Probably built in the 40's or 50's.We used to change rings, bearings, and valves every other year. It worked continuously.
