The water situation and lack thereof. A lot of the places in the palisades fire had sprinkler systems. Those lines get compromised and you have a straight leak that is pretty generous.. Get enough of those leakers in the area, no pressure and volume.

The reservoir was planned to be offline for repairs, long before this event.

Not to mention Air Support not being able to fly.

There's no Reservoirs any where close to providing enough water for the fiasco that unfolded.

I'm fortunate to have Lake Isabella as a source for helicopters and bordering Sequoia National Forest brings all Aerial support being retardant or water to help keep the further spread of destruction to forests or developed/structures.

Regardless it is obviously never an outcome that is preventable to an extent.
