What's your favorite old school Japanese car?

The owner of the NAPA store I worked at used to use these almost exclusively for delivery vehicles in the early 90's. He'd find them from all over the country, in white, and have them shipped to MN. Had a local garage give them the "once over" (tires, brakes, etc), change all the fluids to full synthetic (Amzoil), add the NAPA graphics (including the little hat on the roof!), and then we'd just run the hell outta them. Those 22R engines....They ran forever if you took care of 'em! We had a couple of trucks that had over a half-million miles before we had to get rid of them due to rust...

Yup. Great vehicles.
Mine was a 1 ton, single rear wheel, with the 22RE, fuel injected. In 35 years never had a problem with the electrical/electronics. Bought new, as a "stripper". only had PS, PB, towing mirrors. I added the AC, radio, cruise control, class three receiver, and brake controller, cab over topper. I never "beat" on it but didn't baby it either.
