Winter project: Home basement workshop.

Stupid me for asking, but while you had the pegboard off, why didn't you run a wire off of your outlets to a switch, to power another outlet to plug in your under cabinet lighting? Currently, you lost use of one outlet to power your light, plus have a chord hanging down from the light that could get tangled up in other projects.

Looks pretty good otherwise
Uh....Because I never thought of it? :BangHead:

When we bought the place this was just a cold, dark storage room in the basement, with a single 60 watt bulb in the ceiling and uninsulated walls. I ran a separate, dedicated circuit for the space, as the only outlet in there was "scabbed-in" by the previous owner (or a half-assed electrican), and I never considered adding a separate outlet, or feed, for the lights above the workbench.

But all is not lost! I will be adding an overhead bath exhaust fan into the space soon, and since the ceiling is open I can easily run power from the fan over to a new j-box, above the cabinets, for the lights.

Great idea, thank you!
