I don’t want to start over, but
I rotated mine in 10-15 degree (crankshaft increments) with valve covers off until I saw oil at the rocker shafts, then marked the damper accordingly. Then when I was ready to pre-oil before the initial startup, I just moved one at a time to those locations, pre-oiled each side and then returned the damper to the firing location I wanted for #1.
