I had the spare tire cover open to investigate whether I could use some kind of hydraulic lifts like I did with the hood. I probably can if I can find a short lift for a lightweight application since the spare tire cover is not that heavy, even with carpet on it.
I also wanted to confirm that the spare tire - a 215x70 on an old 14 inch Magnum road wheel - was gonna fit the spare tire well. The measurements said if would fit although it would be tight. And bingo - it fit with some room to spare side to side and with the spare time floor cover lowered.
