I had to replace the same section... well I sorta used a bit cut from a washing machine and pop riveted into about the same spot you tack welded. Seemed like you could do no wrong with that edge right there. I found a hitch somewhere and used to pull a wooden sailboat with it. No motor so I had to sneak way down the ramps to get the darn thing off the trailer. Lol God i wish I had pictures of that.... loved that car!
