Well there is a way to combat that. Something that is a tad gutless at low rpm with a 4bbl can be seriously revived by using port on port induction and appropriately long nicely merged, preferably equal length, headers....
but that is a whole lot of expense on 45mm weber IDFs x4 a custom built inlet or a search for an unobtanium one.
think of a 4.5 litre v8 as two 2.25 litre I4s and those carbs we designed exactly for that job
