Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. So for a low car it makes sense to stick to shorty headers or the even just biggest manifolds like 340 driver side, large magnum passenger? (And maybe try to cram more power in with a supercharger, since you do see lots of people running manifolds and lots of turbo boost on modern builds)

Because even though fenderwells would technically check some of the boxes, they are destroying the body rigidity in places where people add reinforcements to inner fenders. And they are probably bad for ground clearance anyway.

For steering, I have 14:1 Borgeson and it still seems too slow for me, as I'm used to modern racks.

Doug’s 453’s and TTI long tubes both work. I have a set of the TTI shorties, they’re less than 3/8” higher than the Doug’s 453’s for ground clearance and they’re not rated for as much horsepower. So yes, if absolute ground clearance is the goal the TTI shorties are a little better but depending on your power level it might not be really worth it.

Fender well headers kill your tire clearance on turning, so, not a handling item at all. They only work with really skinny front tires.

Most modern racks are only 12:1, so that’s not a huge difference. You can also use a steering quickner, Howe racing sells those if you really was a faster ratio. The Hotchkis challenger ran a 1.5:1 ratio quicker on a Mopar power steering box for a final ratio of 12:1 without the issue of clearance on the steering arms

TTI headers will work with road race pan. I believe Dougs will too.
Yessir, I have Dougs on mine.
