The newer they get (Ford's that is) the truer that is
Had to put brakes on the daily driver 12, 1/2 ton Dodge after work. Only 70k on the ones I took off.i got my use out of the old ones
..
Might have gotten another 1500 out of them and then it would have been scrape city.
Had a flat on the way home from work last week, fixed it (pulled it apart and patched it, I don't plug them) and having access to the tire machine at work helps a ton.
Finally put the repaired tire back on along with the brakes.
I've had pads under the seat for both ends for at least 6 months. Went with Bendix severe duty.
Got a deal on those from rock auto.
This morning I thought for a few minutes I wasn't leaving the driveway. Backed out about 3 feet and it acted like I hit something. Pulled forward and tried again, this time I got about 8 feet backing up and it did the same. Pulled up again, and on the 3rd try I got out of the driveway.
I found out when I pulled the L R rotor why.
One of the parking brake linings fell out.
It had been wedging itself into the front shoe when I tried to back out. I didn't have parking brake shoes on hand but I won't have that problem again. I'll have to get a set before camping season starts I guess.
I HATE HATE HATE chrome capped lug nuts.
I had 2 of them spin on me as I pulled the wheels. I went to O'Reilly's to get some and they want $12.49 EACH LUG NUT!!!! No that isn't a fat thumbs misprint. I went to AutoZone about 2 miles away and they had the same thing but they also had a card of 4 for that same amount. Real chrome, not capped. I got 2 packs for now. $3.something a nut is better than $12.49 for one. Gonna try RA when I look for those park brake shoes and hardware, maybe eBay.
