He like so many young people look at your generation as not having value. Now that he has gotten a bit of insight into your skill set he will undoubtedly look at you very differently moving forward. l would venture a guess you just created a number one fan out of him. Most people I know have no idea of my skill set, including Vietnamese people. Basically I have no set skill set. I like to help with my limited knowledge. But if someone makes me angry I can find skill sets when I need to use them..........
