904 shifting strange
73 /6 duster with 904 doing some strange things.
The tranny shifts like it has a shift kit in it (hard and quick) but it's like shift points are all over the place.
Problems:
shifts too soon into 2nd even under full throttle.
shifts not soon enough into 3rd most of the time.
doesn't shift back into 2nd soon enough when coming up to a speed bump.
if I just ease onto the throttle it shifts normal 90% of the time. I "believe" I adjusted the kick down linkage correct, but now can't find the procedure.
It was something like.... damn A.D.D. I found it and I'll update this post when I correct the adjustment ... oops..
It says to loosen the lock nut and push the transmission lever "firmly" forward and tighten the nut.. seems too simple to be true. Is this correct. anyone have any way to verify it is set correctly?
