something different
Well I'm building another short block soon. I have a nice 340 now but looking for more cubics. It will start with a 4.100 bore 360 block with 4 bolt splay mains and a partial block fill. The crank will be an aftermarket cast crank with the standard 3.58 stroke. Rods will be custom aluminum which are only 800 bucks and I'm having them made to be 6.6 inch long for a rod ratio of 1.84. The pistons will be ROSS custom since the bore is big and the comp. height is short(1.200). The heads will be my current large commandos with a little more valve and throat work to reach the 300cfm mark which I'm only 12cfm off at .550 lift.
I have one question with the 1/16, 1/16 and 3/16 ring pack and a .927 pin will I need a ring support piece? I don't think the piston is too short for the pin to get in the oil ring but I've need had one this short before. Well what do you guys think?
