right angle oil filter adapter

I've been hearing that if possible to go straight out of the block with a shorty filter. I have the right angle one, and it's a little troublesome with a oil drop here and there. When I first put it on it leaked bad so I tightened it up. I did the cam break in and changed oil and filter and it's working pretty good but I think I'm going to come off the side of the block with a ph16? right now i
I'm using a Fram PH8A and some people are saying the Frams are no good, to use a Wix or STP short filter. I also wonder if the right angle doesn't effect the flow somewhat. Any oppinions welcome on this subject. Thanks.
