Anyone confirm that the Lunati VooDoo cams are .904 lobe width?
First of all, any cam designed by Harold Brookshire kicks *** in my opinion. I've used several UltraDyne cams in different engines and they all were great. I intend to put a VooDoo cam in my 340 someday when I take out the POS Mopar Perf cam that's in it currently.
Here's a tidbit of info regarding Edelbrock cams. Edelbrock buys them from Camshaft Machine Co, which is owned by Crane. They are the largest cam grinder in the country. They grind cams for OEMs, and countless other aftermarket companies. You can buy a Wolverine cam that has the same specs as an Edelbrock cam for a fraction of the price. Same cam, same grind, just a less colorful box and you don't get the pretty red cam lube. Look closely at the Summit grinds and compare them to Edelbrock's. I'll bet you'll find the same specs from both places.
I was a machinist for 10 years and went to quite a few trade shows. That's how I found out this info.
As far as Edelbrock's tech line, I was fed a bunch of BS regarding their exhaust products for my Brand "X" vehicle. Their exhaust did nothing for performance and just made the car louder, despite their claims it was quiet and would shave 4 tenths of my 1/4 mile ET.
