lower shackles dakota

Ryan I don't think they actually make lowering shackels. They make modified rear lowering hangers for the shackles. I used to have a 93 Dakota and put on a set and didn't notice what it did to the pinion angle. Later I found it threw the pinion angle off by several degrees and it trashed the rearend. The stock hangers aren't easy to get off either unless you torch them. The rivets they use to mount them to the frame are real hard and don't grind easy.

I found the best way to lower them is with lowering blocks. That way the pinion angle isn't affected. Only problem with most blocks is their made from aluminum which broke twice for me. I finally got some square steel tubing and in 15 minutes made mine from it. I drove the truck for several yrs. afterward and never had a problem again.
