Fuel Gauge and Sending Unit

If you can't find the factory clip to connect the sending unit to the fuel line just clean the two ends and use a pair of 1/4" hose clamps with a short lenght of 16 gauge wire. While it may ground through the tank and straps in some cases, it's obviously not happening on your car. Like posted before, momentarily ground the sending unit wire with someone watching the gauge for movement. If it moves it's a signal issue. If you add the ground and still not movement, replace the sending unit. If nothing happens then you going to pop out the dash cluster and check for continuity from the sending unit to the gauge. If you find not breaks in the wire ( using an OHM meter...) then it's the gauge. Simple circut to fix, but a pain in the *** if your not mentally prepared for the challenge.This might help too:
