Where is the VIN stamped on a '70 340 block?
0 should be the first number indicating year, the last 6 digits are sequence numbers and are part of your vin, if these match your engine is original to the car.the vin number you need to look at on the car is the one on the dash on drivers side and the last 6 digits on engine should match the last 6 on dash, like I say, there should be an 0 indicating a 70 block on the pan rail.weird as the p would be indicate a 69 block , has to be an ob340 0 meaning 1970 the p indicates a late 69 block as if it were a 70 0 would be first number on panrail and on head
