Where is the VIN stamped on a '70 340 block?

0 should be the first number indicating year, the last 6 digits are sequence numbers and are part of your vin, if these match your engine is original to the car.the vin number you need to look at on the car is the one on the dash on drivers side and the last 6 digits on engine should match the last 6 on dash, like I say, there should be an 0 indicating a 70 block on the pan rail.weird as the p would be indicate a 69 block , has to be an 0...........340 0 meaning 1970 the p indicates a late 69 block as if it were a 70 0 would be first number on panrail and on head
..

Hi, must be an echo in here .. LOL .... Yes, there's actually an OB (as in VS29HOB)...followed by 6 digits stamped on the block (same area as the picture of the 440 above) and same #'s as the VIN on the dash plate, as well as the transmission, door plate, fender tag, package tray and of course the build sheet, which I found under the back seat many years ago...

Thanks

Kenny
